RV Life
I’ve spent the last month driving around with my RV trailer and writing my novel from NaNoWriMo. National forests are my go to spots to stop. Wisconsin, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, now I’m heading South.
One of the things I’ve realized along the way is that I have to spend a little more time planning out things to do while I’m in the area. Most of my time is getting wasted; occupied by consumption. Besides writing every morning, the hours are getting whittled away by media, games, food, and checking investments. I haven’t been exploring enough, and I’m going to make it a point to do that at least a couple times a week.
I’d also like to adjust my routine, but adding is so much more difficult than subtracting. I need to work out. It would improve many aspects of my life, but that isn’t enough incentive for me to change my habits. With so much freedom in my life, discipline has become a challenge.
The title, perspective, and characters have changed significantly from my initial outline for this novel. It’s coming along nicely though. I will have the initial draft completed by the end of December. Then I begin the arduous task of revising. Not looking forward to it, but I am eager to read what I’ve written.
I’m learning that as I write more, the story just kind of tells itself; it’s just waiting for me to put it on the page.
