Trapped

We’re currently trapped in the mountains of Las Vegas as we wait for my truck to get repaired. In the meantime, I’ve been making progress toward self-publishing The Light in Death.

I’ve been doing a final pass while critiquing another writer’s work. The artist that did the front cover is currently working on the whole cover, spine and back. Every site I went to had its own formula to calculate spine width, so I hope it turns out okay since I guessed.

I originally decided the release date would be June 30th since KDP seems pretty straight forward, but with trying to do a paperback version, that seems unrealistic, especially considering I want to get an author’s copy to see how the quality turns out. The whole process is daunting, but if it was easy, everyone would do it. My main concern is marketing.

My plan for that is to primarily do Amazon marketing, but will do some Facebook ads as well. I’m currently trying to sort that out by watching different videos. I’ll be offering it for 99 cents initially and I’m eager, but nervous for people to buy and hopefully read. My first post will ask friends to buy and share, but it’s worrying. If only a couple people decide to support my career, does that mean friends don’t care? We’ll see.
